Parking: Lay by 500m towards Sheffield from Cut Throat Bridge

What.

A pretty tough 9km. It's quite an adventurous route and as the route is exposed would be made more testing by some bad weather. It's never particularly hilly but the ground is rough and we are going to be running a fair amount off foot paths.

The route.

From the car park, we'll take the walkers trod along the road to Cut Throat bridge, a gentle warm up along the track brings us to the first mudstacle of the run, a fairly steep but short bank. From here we'll contour around to reach the northern end of Bamford Edge, head over the edge until a small trod takes us across Bamford Moor (this is very wet, boggy and heathery and I can't promise we'll stick to the 'path'.  It's fairly flat aside from the gentle climb up to Stanage Edge. The route goes beneath the Edge to just before High Neb and takes the line of grouse butts back down to Jarvis Clough.

It's important people understand that there is a good chance we might not be a path for this run and will be going through some tough fell terrain.

Route: Anticlockwise. Nothing too steep but some rough, tough terrain to bash through.

Other important things you need to know.

Although we sort the route we ask that everyone who comes along is able to look after themselves and isn't reliant upon any other member of the team, this means you need to have the appropriate equipment (Waterproof tops and bottoms, hats and gloves, water and food, map and compass and an idea of where we are going to be running).

Post run.

Perhaps a drink in the Ladybower Inn and some chips.
