Head Torch Trail Run - Stanage & Redmires

15th March 2016

Head Torch Trail Run - Stanage & Redmires

When.

Tuesday 15th March, meeting at 6.30 for a 6.45 depart. Please use the lay-by at the top of Lady Canning Plantation.

The most important thing this week is that this is a Head torch Run - Please, please, please bring a head torch which has a good enough beam to enable you to run without the light of others. Also, full body cover is essential - Hat, gloves and long sleeve jacket.

The route.

Unfortunately, the start of this run will be along the path beside Ringinglow Road but it leads to Stanage Edge so it's not all bad. We'll be going over Stanage, bearing right towards Stanage Pole (which will hopefully be replaced soon). On reaching Redmires Reservoirs we'll cut over the bog-moor back towards Ringinglow. Depending on weather, the team and energy levels on arriving back at Lady Cannings we may have a friendly competition to see who can run the Lady Cannings Single Track fastest :-) The Strava segment for this is here.

The run will be around 10km in length and take ~1h15m.

If you're unsure as to how you'll find the terrain please feel free to call or email us on (01142669591 or info@frontrunnersheffield.co.uk).

What to wear and bring.

You will need you own personal head torch, hat, gloves and waterproof jacket. We expect everyone who attends the have the experience and equipment to be self sufficient on the hills and not be dependent on any other member of the group out running.

Please bring appropriate clothing. If the forecast is bad then come prepared (Hats / gloves / jackets / spare clothes / head torch) and if the weather is blisteringly hot... also come prepared (Sun hat / sun cream / water).

Post run.

A drink and crisps in the Norfolk Arms.
