River Derwent Head Torch Trail Run - Tuesday 17th Feb
Where and When?
Next Tuesday 17th February we're heading over to Hathersage and the River Derwent. For parking please see the map below, we'll be meeting in the car park at 18:40 for an 18:45 departure. The run will be around 10km and will take just over an hour. It is likely to be cold out so please do come prepared. Fingers crossed for some cloud free skies!
Type of run:
This is a head torch trail run- It will be dark so please bring a bright head torch, without one I'm afraid you won't be able to join us. The run will be predominantly on wooded trail, trail or fell shoes are certainly necessary. This weeks run will be less hilly than normal but the quality and quantity of mud may make up for the shortfall of hills! If you are unsure of what to bring or how you might find the run please do contact Steve at the shop to check. Please be aware these runs aren't easy :-)
Head torches are essential, if you don't have one, please ring the shop, we'll do our best to provide them but we only have a limited number.
Adequate weather protection is required. If it's raining and a howling wind (yes, we'll still be going out) you'll need full body cover including gloves and a hat. Appropriate shoes are needed for the route, expect that it may be muddy and a bit slippy underfoot, therefore a good pair of trailer fell shoes are advised.
Possibly a drink in Hathersage's fine Scotmans Pack.
