Front Runner Head Torch Trail Run - Longshaw & Millstone

22nd November 2017

Front Runner Head Torch Trail Run - Longshaw & Millstone

Wednesday 22nd November 6.45pm for a 7pm departure.

We'll be meeting at the lay-bys near to the Longshaw Estate Wooden Pole / funny triangular junction / top of Froggatt Hill (The dropped pin on the map).

From the road we'll trot over to White Edge Lodge, hang a right just after on through the woodland to drop into Longshaw. A B-line downhill through Longshaw drops us down just beneath Padley Gorge. A bit of weaving, upping and downing brings us to Bole Hill Quarry and the Lawrencefield Quarry. On beneath Millstone Edge before climbing at the far end back around to Mother Cap. Over the wonderful single track to the Surprise View Car Park then onto Padley Gorge follow by a meander back up through the Longshaw Estate.

The route is around 5.5 miles and will take 60-70 minutes. The terrain is generally firm underfoot but can be technical. There aren't any long long hills but a few kicks here and there. It'd be suitable for those are are used to running off road and can comfortably cover 6 miles on roads - If you're unsure how you might get on please get in touch :-)

Route Maps.

Post run.
A quick drink and some snacks in the Fox House

Other important things you need to know.
Although we sort the route we ask that everyone who comes along is able to look after themselves and isn't reliant upon any other member of the team, this means you need to have the appropriate equipment (Waterproof tops and bottoms, hats and gloves, water and food, map and compass and an idea of where we are going to be running).

See you soon.
